Today we started reading Ms. Monica Edinger’s manuscript (posted on an online blog) about one of the 3 girl children on the Amistad whose name was Margru.

The Amistad story is fascinating because the Africans who were captured never became slaves; instead they were able to return home, though their lives were forever changed.
